Community Economic Development (CED) is a new networking initiative…
Community Economic Development (CED) is a new networking initiative that emerged from the Community Economic Development Conference held in Waitakere in February. CED network aims to be a catalyst for building the New Zealand social economy through:
How?
CED network aims to support social entrepreneurs/individual capacity AND social enterprises/organisations as well as encouraging the development of the social finance sector.
Seed funding has been acquired and currently CED network sits under the umbrella of Community Waitakere.
Di Jennings has been engaged to initiate CED network on a part time basis. An Advisory Group has been established made up of some of New Zealand’s leading social innovators and entrepreneurs.
As Community Waitakere has a local rather than a national remit, an independent legal entity with a national remit will be established at some stage. Di is undertaking the yMedia challenge to develop online communication tools for CED network. In the meantime CED network is using the CED Conference logo and website for interim communication purposes.
Mentoring Team 3 are Kurt Strong and Adam Taylor from TBWA/TEQUILA.
The team consists of students Mathieu Jenkinson and Alexandra Longbotton (Massey University Bachelor of Visual Communication Design), and Blair McGowan (Massey University Bachelor of Design (honours).
